How to Calculate Position Size
1 min read · 124 words
Calculating position size is very straight forward though a lot of people tend to overcomplicate it.
In this example, let's say we have a $10k account balance.
Go to the calculator on whatever exchange you're trading on.
Type in your entry, then type in what your SL will be.
From here, you can mess around with your position size until it fits your desired risk. If you want to risk $100. Change your position size until your potential loss is $100 (1% of your account).
Leverage is irrelevant in this calculation.
LEVERAGE is always irrelevant when calculating position size. Leverage does not matter in any way.
ALL YOU NEED is your entry price, exit price (where your SL will be placed), and position size.
